I have decided to only do cold contact on my piece. This means I will not do any saturing, or anything that involves heat. I will rivet the piece together at the end, and up set the edges to make the metal appear thicker.
After I etched my piece and placed it in the acid for MANY hours, I cut out four different sections and starting bending them into a cuff, and a top portion that goes down the center, top of the forearm. This piece will reach my middle finger, which will have a ring like structure on the end for support.
My piece is going to be a abstraction from the "tree man." This man has a disease that makes his skin turn into a group a warts that appears tree like. But my twist on the approach is that I want my piece to appear beautiful and not like disease that people are afraid of catching.
After etching in my design, I realized that the deeper I make the etch the better it appears in the metal. A classmate, let me borrow a few tools to "scratch" in my design. Im going for a organic tree like appearance
I am in the middle of working on the project in motion. I plan to etch in a design and Im looking forward to the outcome.

Hi Everyone!!
It's our first week of class in Des 331. I'm looking forward to our new projects and all the new techniques I will be learning. So far in class we have had a competition which included making something from the provided items given. I recieved 6th place and I was pretty excited about that!
